1702 <p>I'm pleased to announce that I've accepted a position with Precision Insight,
1703 Inc. effective October, 1999. I'll be leaving Avid Technology in September.</p>

1705 Insight I now have the opportunity to devote my full attention to advancing Mesa
1706 and OpenGL on Linux.</p>

1748 Mesa is a free implementation of the OpenGL 3D graphics library and id's
1749 newest game, Quake 3 Arena, will use Mesa as the 3D renderer on Linux.

1751 The donation will go to Keith Whitwell, who has been optimizing Mesa to
1752 improve performance on 3d hardware. Thanks to Keith's work, many
1753 applications using Mesa 3.1 will see a dramatic performance increase
