X-Git-Tag: stable_2012_02_02~780 X-Git-Url: https://git.libre-soc.org/?a=commitdiff_plain;h=2eae11be6499effbcf33e4f3ea747a7280adf86c;p=gem5.git X86: Make nop a regular, non-microcoded instruction. Code in the CPUs that need a nop to carry a fault can't easily deal with a microcoded nop. This instruction format provides for one that isn't. --HG-- rename : src/arch/x86/isa/formats/syscall.isa => src/arch/x86/isa/formats/nop.isa --- diff --git a/src/arch/x86/isa/decoder/one_byte_opcodes.isa b/src/arch/x86/isa/decoder/one_byte_opcodes.isa index 80f603503..213ddf65a 100644 --- a/src/arch/x86/isa/decoder/one_byte_opcodes.isa +++ b/src/arch/x86/isa/decoder/one_byte_opcodes.isa @@ -296,7 +296,7 @@ } } 0x12: decode OPCODE_OP_BOTTOM3 { - 0x0: NOP(); //XXX repe makes this a "pause" + 0x0: NopInst::NOP(); //XXX repe makes this a "pause" default: XCHG(Bv,rAv); } 0x13: decode OPCODE_OP_BOTTOM3 { diff --git a/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/formats.isa b/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/formats.isa index df567a6c6..cc0eb9acf 100644 --- a/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/formats.isa +++ b/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/formats.isa @@ -59,6 +59,9 @@ //thing on a variety of inputs ##include "multi.isa" +//Include a format for a non-microcoded nop. +##include "nop.isa" + //Include a format which implements an extra layer of decoding to handle the //repe and repne prefixes ##include "string.isa" diff --git a/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/nop.isa b/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/nop.isa new file mode 100644 index 000000000..73544d907 --- /dev/null +++ b/src/arch/x86/isa/formats/nop.isa @@ -0,0 +1,89 @@ +// -*- mode:c++ -*- + +// Copyright (c) 2010 Advanced Micro Devices +// All rights reserved. +// +// The license below extends only to copyright in the software and shall +// not be construed as granting a license to any other intellectual +// property including but not limited to intellectual property relating +// to a hardware implementation of the functionality of the software +// licensed hereunder.
