From: Brian Paul Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2012 16:30:20 +0000 (-0600) Subject: mesa: rework texture size error checking X-Git-Url: https://git.libre-soc.org/?a=commitdiff_plain;h=e6eaa85a43616ba6f431276ab94a3b19dd524986;p=mesa.git mesa: rework texture size error checking There are two aspects to texture image size checking: 1. Are the width, height, depth legal values (not negative, not larger than the max size for the mipmap level, etc)? 2. Is the texture just too large to handle? For example, we might not be able to really allocate memory for a 3D texture of maxSize x maxSize x maxSize. Previously, we did (1) via the ctx->Driver.TestProxyTextureImage() hook but those tests are really device-independent. Now we do (2) via that hook since the max texture memory and texture shape are device-dependent. Also, (1) is now done outside the general texture parameter error checking functions because of the special interaction with proxy textures. The recently introduced PROXY_ERROR token is removed. The teximage() and copyteximage() functions are bit simpler now (less if-then nesting, etc.) Reviewed-by: Jose Fonseca --- diff --git a/src/mesa/main/dd.h b/src/mesa/main/dd.h index e6a1e68cb25..0000a397a3b 100644 --- a/src/mesa/main/dd.h +++ b/src/mesa/main/dd.h @@ -251,14 +251,14 @@ struct dd_function_table { struct gl_texture_object *texObj); /** - * Called by glTexImage[123]D when user specifies a proxy texture - * target. - * - * \return GL_TRUE if the proxy test passes, or GL_FALSE if the test fails. + * Called by glTexImage, glCompressedTexImage, glCopyTexImage + * and glTexStorage to check if the dimensions of the texture image + * are too large. + * \param target any GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_x target + * \return GL_TRUE if the image is OK, GL_FALSE if too large */ GLboolean (*TestProxyTexImage)(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, - GLint level, GLint internalFormat, - GLenum format, GLenum type, + GLint level, gl_format format, GLint width, GLint height, GLint depth, GLint border); /*@}*/ diff --git a/src/mesa/main/teximage.c b/src/mesa/main/teximage.c index 48a4cccd834..a0835d2ee0d 100644 --- a/src/mesa/main/teximage.c +++ b/src/mesa/main/teximage.c @@ -1209,8 +1209,9 @@ _mesa_clear_texture_image(struct gl_context *ctx, /** - * Check the width, height, depth and border of a texture image - * against the max texture size constants. + * Check the width, height, depth and border of a texture image are legal. + * Used by all the glTexImage, glCompressedTexImage and glCopyTexImage + * functions. * The target and level parameters will have already been validated. * \return GL_TRUE if size is OK, GL_FALSE otherwise. */ @@ -1222,6 +1223,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, GLint maxSize; switch (target) { + case GL_TEXTURE_1D: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_1D: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.MaxTextureLevels - 1); /* level zero size */ maxSize >>= level; /* level size */ @@ -1233,6 +1235,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, } return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_2D: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_2D: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.MaxTextureLevels - 1); maxSize >>= level; @@ -1248,6 +1251,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, } return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_3D: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_3D: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.Max3DTextureLevels - 1); maxSize >>= level; @@ -1267,6 +1271,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, } return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE_NV: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE_NV: if (level != 0) return GL_FALSE; @@ -1277,6 +1282,12 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, return GL_FALSE; return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_POSITIVE_X: + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_NEGATIVE_X: + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_POSITIVE_Y: + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_NEGATIVE_Y: + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_POSITIVE_Z: + case GL_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_NEGATIVE_Z: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_CUBE_MAP_ARB: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.MaxCubeTextureLevels - 1); maxSize >>= level; @@ -1292,6 +1303,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, } return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_1D_ARRAY_EXT: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_1D_ARRAY_EXT: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.MaxTextureLevels - 1); maxSize >>= level; @@ -1305,6 +1317,7 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, } return GL_TRUE; + case GL_TEXTURE_2D_ARRAY_EXT: case GL_PROXY_TEXTURE_2D_ARRAY_EXT: maxSize = 1 << (ctx->Const.MaxTextureLevels - 1); maxSize >>= level; @@ -1330,8 +1343,8 @@ _mesa_legal_texture_dimensions(struct gl_context *ctx, GLenum target, /** - * This is the fallback for Driver.TestProxyTexImage().
